F1 TV coverage

Point taken.

OK. I like David Croft as a commentator but his fan boy is getting out of control.

* on seeing Hulkenberg have to drop out from a hard fought 4th

".....that's bad luck for Hulkenberg but it pails in comparison to the bad luck Verstappen has been having"

What!?! What are you talking about? Hulkenberg has had more years of bad luck in F1 than Max has had pints of beer!

*on talking about voting for driver of the day

"I'd be tempted to vote Max Verstappen out of sheer sympathy"

What are you talking about. He got taken out at the first corner like multiple drivers have before him. You Don't know if he would have had a good race or not. If Vettel hadn't swerved he'd have been beaten into first comer by Kimi anyways.

*on seeing Verstappen standing watching the race

"If he has nothing to do why doesn't he come talk to me?"

Probably because he has seen the film misery mate!

All of that has prompted me to tweet Martin Brundle today and ask whether as Crofty is president of the Max Verstappen fan club he gets free passes to the functions.

Croft and Kravitz are fanboys. I can understand it's annoying, as I've said it's the same on German TV where they have their favourite drivers. These people shouldn't be commentating and more viewers should be sending in complaints.

Brundle is an absolute diamond, he doesn't indulge in all of that rubbish.

Defo doing it. It's stupid money.
Sky £44 p/m
BT fibre 49.24 p/m (and going up again next month)
Amazon 79 p/y
Total = £1197.88 per year.

I need my head looked at that is mental.

New plan.
Talk talk Fibre & TV £27.50 p/m
Now TV for 10 races per season £79.90 p/y (20 race from 2019 £159.80)
Amazon 79 p/y

Total = £488.90

Saving = £708.98

That's interesting stuff Greenlantern101 - I'm on Virgin and usually cut a deal (was on 20 quid a month from March to Aug and now on 35 quid) so will have to do the math on Now TV.

Edit - I did the maths! Saves bucket loads.

There's CH4 for their 10 then if you have a smart TV you can cast from a tablet or smartphone. Streams can cut out requiring a switch to another stream, not difficult if you have a number of tabs open to quickly click on, all free:)

Is it a crime to use your cash to buy out all sports events, then charge fans a fortune to watch as an individual sport or take a package costing hundreds of pounds per year to supply many free to air channels and a load of repeats? Turn yourself into a monopoly and most will find a way round it especially with an open internet, someone pays for the service then advertising pays for the transmission free to the internet, a very moot point.

Well if it is still broadcasting free to air German TV can be obtained legally by adding an offset LNB to your satellite dish and picking up the Eutel broadcast, it's about 18deg, then either watch and listen in German or shut down the sound and listen to Live 5 as I did on holiday in France 2 years ago

i dont like streaming, never have because it might be stupid but I'm a big fan of boxing but if Joshua has a fight that might only be 2 rounds like takam (I thought / underestimated) ill just listen on the radio because I feel like I'm stealing

for me sky sports can be worth it because I watch multiple sports, I watch the premier league, football league, soccer saturday, boxing, cricket, darts & all the f1 coverage with all testing coverage which is about 4hrs, then there 14 hrs of coverage a weekend
