No, he didn't. I recall at the time thinking we'd rarely seen less of a warm down lap because he was showing the warm down lap. Surely there's enough to complain about with regard to FOM coverage without contriving your own nonsense.
Also, the idea in F1 is to win the Drivers' Title. The two Mercedes are competing for that. In fact, we barely saw the overtake because we were focussing on the Button/Alonso bunfight. Since said bunfight was the most interesting thing going on, that is correct but it is hardly showing a pair of Mercedes for 56 laps, is it?
