Grand Prix 2025 Spanish Grand Prix

Another weekend, another Grand Prix, and if you thought Monaco was dull, welcome to Barcelona! It's a standard race weekend, no sprint event.

Last year Max won, and then didn't win again until Brazil. I suspect he will, again, be the one pushing the two McLaren's closest at this race and as there is only the one mandate tyre stop, and cars can overtake, there will be no Williams Wagon Train this time out. For all us race fans it time to decide if you are "Team Norris" or "Team Piastri" as outside of these two, unless Red Bull bring some upgrades for Max, we are looking at a straight fight between the McLaren boys for the World Title.

If you are at a loose end this weekend F1.com still has some tickets available at the bargain price of €2,950 for all three days. If you only want to go for the race this will set you back €2,400. I presume there were cheaper tickets available earlier on and these are all that is left. A question for all of you, does Flavio Briatore still own the TV rights for the Spanish GP, or did he lose them when Liberty Media took over? Talking of Flav, here's Jonny Herbert saying what we are all thinking - Alpine boss Flavio Briatore ‘should not be back in F1’, says Johnny Herbert And here's some quotes from the man himself when Craig Slater had the brass neck to remind him that he's a proven cheat - Flavio Briatore’s "not broadcastable" response to F1 return critics revealed

Why can't some people take the hint and retire?

I'm struggling to be positive about this race, but the last time I was Mr Grumpy in one of these preambles we ended up with some half-decent entertainment. So rather than just witter on, here's the timings from F1.com, in the wrong order, as always.

ive said this multiple times over the years espically in mexico. red bull & horner have blood on their hands. because like vettel they let their "golden boy" get away with murder. it leads drivers to think they are above the law
I don't disagree with you. I think Horner is just as stunned what's happened and realised there is no defence for that.

If I was the other team I'd crank up the ante now and start saying this is not Mario Kart

I dont understand why he got off so light. The last time a driver did this type of thing deliberately was in 1997 and that driver was ejected from the World Championship.

I caught the first few laps on TV and then listened to the rest on the car radio. I hadn't realised that Verstappen had been asked to give the place back. I assumed he'd clattered into Russell while defending a move.

He should have been disqualified as a minimum. End of.

What happened to Pastor Maldonado when he did the same thing at Monaco? Ot Seb Vettel following the Baku race?

Max has apologised

i never thought id see the day. & with Horner refusing to do an interview & max apologising, has he finally crossed the line at red bull

Hadjar in the Red Bull or Buemi? Surely not as you suggest and promote Lindblad
no one actually knows who the confirmed reserve driver is because its TBC because it was Tsunoda at the start of the season. so my guess is if Tsunoda was the reserve driver at RB, then you would assume then that lawson would then take on that role after taking tsunoda seat

which 1 was the Maldonado

vettel Baku - 10 second stop & go
senna suzuka - 6 month ban, lifted after paying £100,000 fine
Schumacher jerez - Disqualified

1 more point on his super license in either canada or austria & he will be forced to stand down FB. i was shocked at horner this is a man who known for defending the indefensible. & judging by refusing an interview it might been to far for even him

although i did find the letter the stewards sent to max

That is not an apology. Nowhere does he say 'sorry'.

He does not even admit that he was in the wrong.

'...a move that was not right and shouldn't have happened' could be referring to Russell's move.

Weasel words.

that me giving him to much credit then. but i thought saying the move was wrong & shouldnt have happened & was admission of guilt

He should have been disqualified from the race and given at minimum a 3 race ban.

If Red Bull is seriously upset with his actions they should stand Max down from the next race, but we know that none of the F1 teams have any moral fortitude.
Not a chance especially as Horner 's job depends on him

What do you expect from a family of thugs

Not sure if this should be posted here but the Stroll story does not add up that he is feeling pain in his wrist and missed a race

Now there stories suggestion he was angry with his team and swore at them and damaged equipment but the injury is completely separate

Any promise he showed briefly at the start of his career which showed he was worth a seat has gone nowhere.

Daddy's special little trooper needs to move on now.
