Current Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

Can I just state I in no way believe that Glock delib let Lewis through. My point was that something he did led to Lewis being world champion which is why someone was able to make up the rumour in the first place. Nico Hulkenbergs crash had no effect at all on the title race and therefore if someone starts a rumour like that it'll never persist because it can in no way be thought of as true. Its a bit like saying I didn't buy those bananas at the shop today because I'm attempting to prevent more high sponsored south american F1 drivers entering the sport. Thete is no link so tgrre is no rumour. Not comparable.

But I don't believe Mclaren paid Glock to let Lewis through....
...It was obviously Bernie!

racecub - Yeah, that's another one that can be immediately debunked! And exactly why do you expect more from an F1 forum? LOL

RasputinLives Thought Process In Shops

Ooh, I do fancy that [item]. Better put it on my list. That list that I will use to check the internet to ensure that the product has no link to Bruno :censored: Senna's sponsors. I will then return to the shop to buy any item on the list that is proven to have no connection with Senna. God, my beard's itching, if only he hadn't signed that deal with Gillette.

Oh I'm all for discussing anything, exploring any avenue, the weirder the better :D The only reason I gave the 2008 example is because it was as preposterous as the Hulkenberg one, yet unbelievably people began to discuss it, which I think kindov proved F1ang-o's point. Anyway, bring on the weird topics for discussion, it's the off season after all  the rule I try to stick to is to argue the point but don't attack the poster. Anyway, I stray from Lewis. But there's not a lot of news at the moment

I'm sorry but the 2008 example was incredibly strange and understandably some people did need to put their minds at rest that nothing untoward happened especially given it changed the result of an entire championship. It doesn't even come close to the proposterousness of the Hulkenberg example which is borderline ludicrous.

Yes. Hulkenberg deliberately crashing into Hamilton is a ludicrous suggestion. You have mistaken the intent of the poster when she wrote that. The words "I wonder if", precede the statement about Hulkenberg because of course it won't be remembered as deliberate. That was the point of the post.

It wasn't deliberate that's why it won't be remembered as such. I saw no other intention than playing the 'Lewis Hamilton is always the victim card'. Again.

I can understand that...because when I wrote that JB was selfish .....Hamberg added Evil...which I had never said. .....so again reading something that isn't there.

Brundle thinks Hamilton will be a success at Mercedes. He thinks the 2013 car will be stronger ( this view is backed up by comments elsewhere from Schumacher, Brawn and Rosberg) and even on the 2012 car he thinks Hamilton would have brought a quarter of a second a lap to it, over a race that is quite considerable.

Its nice to see positivity :D

Hmm. One thing JS knows about is the boardroom so his judgement on Mercedes is worrying. He probably knows some of those board members personally. On the other hand I think his comment about Hamilton's consistency is one season off the mark. When I consider how Lewis performed in the face of the set backs to his challenge for the 2012 title, I fail to see how he was inconsistent. Here's one for the statisticians among us: Just how many other drivers have scored multiple wins and podiums in every F1 season in which they have competed?
