Did you know Pepsi and Coke made cans of fizzy pop for astronauts to take into space at the height of the cola wars.

Yeah. I've seen one of the dispensing machines in the museum at the Kennedy Space Centre.

Coke proposed the project to NASA with a space can and a drinks dispenser. Pepsi found out and demanded they be allowed to join in. Apparently NASA agreed but said that the astronauts would try the coke products first.

Neither drink went down well.
