In the 2 years that Valencia has been on the calezzzzzzzzzzzzz........

Eh? Whassat?
Oh sorry, drifted off there for a minute :D

Anyway, as I was saying, in the 2 years that Valencia has been on the calendar, there have been a total of 6 overtakes; 4 in 2008 and 0 in 2009.
That would have been a rubbish sweepstake though so instead I’m going for this.

Only 4 of the current drivers have finished on the podium at Valencia.
In 2008 it was: Massa, Hamilton, Kubica and in 2009 it was: Barrichello, Hamilton, Räikkönen.
As you may recall, 2009 was the race in which Luca Badoer made his (un)forgettable return to F1 racing after Massa’s accident in Hungary.

Get on with the sweepstake, already
OK, OK I'm coming to it.

So this race's sweepstake is: what will the total be of Hamilton, Massa, Kubica and Barrichello's finishing positions and fastest lap positions?
Feel free to detail your answer with individual positions if you wish but the total value is what I'm after.

For the sake of argument, a retirement will be classed as a position depending on which lap the driver retires on and therefore his placing in the race standings. If a driver doesn't record a fastest lap then his placing will be 0.

So for example, in the 2010 Monaco GP, Rubens Barrichello finished in 18th place: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2010/829/ which would have given values of:

Hamilton - 5
Massa - 4
Kubica - 3
Barrichello - 18
Total - 30

The fastest laps were as follows: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2010/829/6735/fastest_laps.html

Hamilton - 10
Massa - 4
Kubica - 3
Barrichello - 16
Total - 33

Grand total - 63

In the event of a tie, the winner will be the one with the highest number of individual predictions closest to the actual results, in which case individual breakdowns will be required.

Ok, I'll have a go with:

Position:

Hamilton - 1
Massa - 6
Kubica - 5
Barrichello - 11

Fastest Lap:

Hamilton - 3
Massa - 5
Kubica - 7
Barrichello - 14

Giving me a grand total of - 52

:goodday:

Positions.............
--Hamilton: 3
--Massa: 5
--Kubica: 7
--Barrichello: 12

Fastest Lap............
--Hamiton: 2
--Massa: 7
--Kubica: 6
--Barrichello: 9

Grand Total.....................51

Wait till the race predictions and this will be well off!

--Hamilton: 3
--Massa: 6
--Kubica: 8
--Barrichello: 15

Fastest Lap............
--Hamiton: 3
--Massa: 6
--Kubica: 10
--Barrichello: 16

Grand Total.....................67

personally, I think the sweepstake should have been which lap Bro fell asleep on, with Mrs Bro being an independent witness! :snigger:

Mine.

Position:
Hamilton - 3
Massa - 7
Kubica - 6
Barrichello - 12

Fastest Lap:
Hamilton - 2
Massa - 6
Kubica - 5
Barrichello - 12

Total - 53

I claim the number 70. Due to pure laziness and excess tiredness I am not going through the workings of the sweepstake, and just picked a number that seemed appropriate.

I also predict Brogan will last approximately 5 laps before falling asleep.

This is what I will be using to prevent my family from turning the TV over during the Valencia race:

Not sure about how to disguise the snoring though. Anyway, onto the sweepstake:

Hamilton - 1
Massa - 9
Kubica - 5
Barrichello - 15
Total - 30

Hamilton - 2
Massa - 7
Kubica - 5
Barrichello - 12
Total - 26

Total 56

Race:
Hamilton - 3
Massa - 7
Kubica - 6
Barrichello - 10

Fastest Lap:
Hamilton - 2
Massa - 8
Kubica - 4
Barrichello - 13

Giving a total of - 53
Which is no good as that's been taken by Brogan, so Barrichello will instead have the 14th quickest FL instead, which gives 54.

You can have 53 if you want Muddy, I'll just use the breakdown to determine the winner.

The one with the closest set wins.

The results are in.

Finish position:
Hamilton - 2
Massa - 11
Kubica - 5
Barrichello -4

Fastest Lap:
Hamilton - 4
Massa - 13
Kubica - 7
Barrichello - 5

Total - 51

So the winner is Matthew Little with 51 :1st:
Runner up is cider_and_toast with 52 :2nd:
Third spot goes to Brogan with 53 :3rd:

Sadly, like Lewis, I wasn't able to get 3 in a row :D

It's over to you Matthew for the Silly Sweepstake for The British GP.
