Kimi Räikkönen

Probably one of the coolest drivers ever to grace F1 alongside James Hunt.

His part life-style may not have been to some teams liking in F1 but you can't deny that Kimi was probably one of the best drivers on the grid from 2003-09. He should have won more championships than he did!

Kimi won his one and only F1 Championship in 2007. Kimi won 18 races, 16 pole positions, scored 62 podiums and claimed 35 fastest laps in his time in F1.

Kimi is probably the must unluckiest driver to ever grace F1 and the amount of retirements he had no fault of his own were lots.

Kimi won his first GP in 2003 winning the Malaysian GP and he claimed his last victory in F1 at the 2009 Belguim GP.

Kimi started his F1 career in 2001 driving for Sauber, he then went on to drive for Mclaren and Ferrari before quitting the sport in 2009.

Kimi produced probably the 2 most funniest moments to happen in F1 over the last 10 years, when he said :censored: at the Brazilian GP in 2006 when Schumi first retired from F1 and the other one at the Malaysian GP where the race was red flagged and he went to the garage and got into shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops and started eating ice-cream.

Whether you liked him or not you can't deny his talent, he produced one of the comebacks of the past 10 season by starting near the back of the Japan GP in 2005 and went on to win it! Probably one of his best race wins in F1.

Did you like Kimi or Not?

Well both cars were said to have been hampered by electric problems throughout the race. They did look a bit short on power compared to the cars they were following.

Still think it's far too early to write anyone off.

He was a bit poor, but he did lose out on some positions due to the first round of pit stops. Compared to Alonso though, he was a bit shabby, but he was close to him right until the stops, if he got through Q2, it would have been interesting.

Kimi won the Australian Grand Prix last year but his first race returning to Ferrari did not bring success. He did score more points than Vettel, Hamilton and Massa but nothing else good to say about the weekend. I hope Ferrari will deliver a stronger car soon.

Yep, he lost two positions due to Ferrari pitting their cars during the safety car.

Hope for a better weekend next week.

It is arguable that 2005 was decided by the decisions of driver choice;

And there I was under the impression that the championship was decided by Renault's illegal harmonic absorber, and since one of the functions of any mass damper is to absorb vibrations this has a positive affect on reliability and driver comfort.

Only because that is when the FIA discovered what they were doing, looked into it and told them to get rid the fact is they were running it in 2005 which gave them an advantage and when Renault did get rid you could tell straight away that the car was much more of a handful..

He didn't win the 2005 title because his Mclaren was made of chocolate and it fell apart everytime he got it up to speed.

I think if F1 offered a big cash prize was race wins we'd prob see Kimi try a bit harder.

Sorry Mephistopheles but both McLaren and Ferrari tried to get the mass damper to work but failed. The FIA knew about this and had no objections until Ferrari put in a protest. Mr Mosley later admitted that there was an agreement between the FIA and Ferrari that if Ferrari objected to a particular development then it would be ruled illegal whether it actually was or not.

As an aside at the time that the mass damper was ruled Ferrari were developing, and possibly using, a flexible floor which was breaking the rules.

I think its entirly possible to create a 'make your own Kimi interview' spreadsheet.

Oh and Ferrari aren't stupid. They do a dam good impression of it sometimes but they're not stupid.
