The other moment that immediately sprang to my mind was this one, strange how crashes stick in the mind. This one must be the biggest impact in F1 that a driver escaped from without serious injury.

How were his feet unharmed....

That crash was horrific, I remember the commentator (I think is was James Allen) saying 'It's all right I can see him moving' as he slumped unconcious (and it was obvious that this was the case) in the aftermath.
