Formula 2 GP2 2011

Not a lot of quality there.:(:bored: What I've seen of GP2 this season it seems we're only going to a couple of reasonable rookies for F1 out of it for next year. :spank: "Naughty boys now you must take your penalties. This is Grand Prix 2 not Gross Prangs DeuxI or is that Do'h!"

Van der Garde has been penalized 5 grid places for the crash he caused, leaving Sam Bird in pole position.

With Grosjean also penalized, but starting from the back anyway due to having set no time, and Bianchi also down the field after a grid penalty carried over from Spain, it could be good for Birds' championship hopes if he manages to win here.

Beat me to it Chad!

Great news for Sam Bird though - let's hope he can avoid getting tangled up with some of the numpties in the rest of the field and assert his authority on the GP2 championship. He's getting consistent top-place finishes so far this season, and a win at Monaco would definitely keep him near the top of the pile.

I'll be V+ ing both these races this weekend...

Not really followed GP2 that much this season as i've never been able too! Plus at times when i go and watch it, it's never shown live on British Eurosport.

Would love to know how young Sam Bird is getting on.

 Um, okay in the main, but he's young with loads of promise. It's early days in his career so a little hiccup here and there is to be expected. Didn't see or hear much of him in the coverage because Eurosport isn't that good. The commentators sit it out in a studio in Paris watching it on TV like the rest of us and they babble about what we can see with our own eyes or waffle about who knows what. The one thing you can guarantee is that they have no idea what's going in the mid or back of the field. Couple of Autosport write ups here.

The GP2 boys held a test at Catalunya last week. Might as well post the times here.
