Just out of curiosity, who was the first driver, to stop and give another driver a lift around the track, and back to the pits, after the other driver's car ran our of fuel at end of race?

I know Nigel Mansell gave another driver a lift around the lap, I'm aware that a few other drivers have done the same thing for a fellow driver who ran out of fuel (or engine trouble).

But who was actually the first one to do so?

Michael Schumacher gave Jean Alesi a lift back to the pits after Alesi ran out of fuel during the 1995 Canadian GP.

Not sure if that was before or after Mansell.

Carlos Pace gave Ronnie Peterson a lift back in the 1972 French GP
