I have to say that's right up there on the pointless gesture scale alongside Matt Hancock's badge for NHS workers for doing a really great job.

This just in from the FOM:

FIA sporting regulations state that cars must not overtake behind the safety car however this only applies to the running of the race. In accordance with the FOM entertainment regulations chapter 3 article 5.6, "on a rainy day when we are desperate to make it look like something interesting has happened an overtake can be considered to be when one car passes the pit lane garage of an opposing team, providing that at least one mechanic from that team is sat on a folding camping style chair within the garage"

To that end we would like to congratulate Sergio Perez for scoring maximum points for his incredibly entertaining 46 overtakes.
