Rules

1. There will be one race held over every 72-hour period. Race start times will be randomly chosen and you will not know the next start time in advance.

2. After I post "Start X GP", you must post "Finish" as quickly as possible. The race order is decided by the amount of time between the "Start X GP" post and your "Finish" post plus the "time penalty" which depends on your team.

3. You can join any of the ten teams listed below. There will be two members per team.

4. There will be twenty races in the season.

5. I will post "Finish X GP" between 22 and 26 hours after the race starts.

6. The top ten finishers will earn 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 points, respectively.

7. The driver with the most points at the end of the season wins the CTA World Drivers' Championship, while the team with the most points wins the CTA World Constructors' Championship.

How do the time penalty things work?

For, example, if I post "Start Chinese GP" at 10:05, and you post "Finish" at 13:28, that would make your "base time" 3 hours and 23 minutes. If you were driving for Lotus-Renault [5m 0s], your total time would be 3 hours and 28 minutes.

It doesn't make a huge difference, but will slightly benefit the top teams and therefore make the game more realistic.

What is the point therefore of choosing a team other than Red Bull, Ferrari, or McLaren?
All of those teams have zero penalty time to be added.

Where's the incentive of deliberately choosing a team which doesn't perform as well as those three?

Oh and where's Marussia?

Good point Brogan but maybe a poster wants to take part but the top teams have already been taken as there can be only two players per team and if you are stuck with a time penalty then you may be a bit more vigilant. I'm not sure I have the time to do it hence my post about thinking about it....

Oh and where's Marussia?

If the time penalty for all teams were equal, the would be no point of having them.

Marussia is not on the list. I figured the chances of getting 22 players was quite low.
