Christian Horner Sacked By Red Bull

I predict Horner will go to either Audi or Cadillac with a possible outside chance of Aston Martin and will buy in with a chunk of Equity like Toto Wolf. Because being sacked will leave a bad taste and the best way to avoid that is to have real equity.

Cadlillac makes alot of sense

Aston martin would make sense if Adrian Newey hadnt gone to Aston Martin because he had fallen out with Horner

Audi not yet not sure Wheatley will like it

Cadillac I can see

Aston Martin - no unless Lawrence thinks Krack / Cowell aint up to it but Verstappen wants to.go there as well?

Alpine is more of a chance where he can rebuild a team to his own image

Let's wait till next season to see who is the team to be in

I would imagine there is a queue of people waiting to give him a job. Regardless of what you think of him personally, he has been the most successful team principal over the last 20 years and that can't have been in spite of him.

ive been actively searching this out what did he do. because i dont mean to be harsh but he seized the opportunity to sign an unhappy newey. that deserves credit. but as i must said above in more details he feels quite low down on the list of why red bull succeeded. but because this question as bugged me since he was sacked. "what did Horner contribute post 2005"

it seems from alot of reading as if his "talent" was using common sense, being a panto villain in almost Jose Mourinho way of if press are talking about me, then their not talking about vettel, max or Newey takes the pressure off them & behind the scenes he kept his ego in tact. kept Newey happy, by simply "what newey wants newey gets" & if things went wrong, not believing he knew better like williams & mclaren did. & trusting that he will come good, which is probably not worthy of a CBE, its seems like any of us could have done his job but ill still give credit, to have the self awareness to know your place & the best people do what they do best. keep them happy

id be interested what he could do at Cadillac or alpine. when you dont have the greatest designer F1 will ever see & arent handed 2 4 time world champions by marko. in the way of could Guardiola be as good at burnley as at man city

It will be interesting to see if more people leave Red Bull.than join?

Is the loyalty towards Horner or Red Bull now? I see Red Bull Corp want to install an Austrian German influence to.a team that see itself as British.

Mekies sounds like a perfect person to have to calm things down but does Verstappen 's ego become so big that its inevitably going to bring down the team

Horner stands to make £50m due to his contract unless he is paid off. Take your time Christian. The absolute knob antagonistic quotes won't be around for a while now like threatening to quit if Red Bull.were not competitive.

I think Horner 's biggest asset was he knew how F1 politics worked and made sure Red Bull went from minnows to influential players.

I think.if Marko or Mintzlaff had done it I don't think.they will be as effective

Absolutely.

The 21st Century Ron Dennis.

Yes we can say he offers less than Newey at Red Bull but his record as team principal is better than everyone bar Ron Dennis

I had two problems with Horner.

The first was where F1 could have had better cost controls years ago but as laid out in ex Williams CEO's book The Art of War, just as everyone had agreed to a cost management plan for F1, at the very last minute, Horner sold them all out.

What I hadn't realised until today was that Horner was a protege of a certain Mr Bernie Ecclestone and had been close to him prior to taking the Red Bull role and apparently was at one time considered by Bernie to be the heir apparent.

The second, and this is not directly his fault, was the never ending love affair between Sky and Horner. You can't tell me no other boss would talk to F1 from the put wall, before, during and after the race? Look at it now, the mic is shared about and we hear from all angles.

i think it was more mutual beneficial relationship. we cant forget when red bull were angry at sky & banned them from talking to their drivers mexico 2023?

Horner loves the sound of his own voice so any chance to be on tv he's going to take it, in same way its reason why he was only the major teams to be on 1st season of drive to survive & sky sports are never going to pass an opportunity to talk to a title leading team

I echo this cue the supposedly Sky is bias towards Brits and Red Bull not getting enough attention claims m9an by Horner

They did not do enough when free sandwiches was masking costs and really let Red Bull off the hook. Then they gave in to his demands ,but the flexibility wing row just proves Mclaren are better than Red Bull in all departments except maybe the driver so he is out of excuses why Red Bull have dropped like a stone

The Bernie connection is interesting as he is making noises that Horner has been treated shamefully by Red Bull.

It's by design. The Sky they are talking about is Sky Sports UK. They have a British audience. If there is any bias in their coverage it is because they are catering to their audience which has it's own bias,

If Horner doesn't like it he can hire a British driver instead of a dick head.

Then you can't act the way they did when Verstappen 's driving was questioned in Mexico last year

If I was Mercedes Aston and Alpine I ll getting onto the staff at Red Bull and offer them jobs. It's a relatively easy commute fro. MK to Brackley or Silverstone or Enstone

Most UK broadcasters get a kicking of they don't attempt to be balanced in their coverage. Don't forget, Red Bull are an Austrian registered team who haven't had a British driver since David Coulthard. There's absolutely no reason for Sky Sports in the UK to show any bias towards RBR for a British audience and yet there was Horner never off our screens for a decade.
