Grand Prix 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix

We are here now at the 4th round of F1 championship. we enter the middle east phase of the championship. in Bahrain, a circuit the drivers & teams know extremely well 2nd only to Catalunya due the amount of testing at the circuit, it is usually the season opener as it has hosted the 1st race for the last 4 seasons & this is the latest we have come to Bahrain since 2015. the reason why Bahrain & Saudi are the 4th & 5th races in 2025 is because they requested to have the F1 races outside of Ramadan

As Crofty mentions annually in Practises, track's tarmac is British-made, with imported aggregate from Shropshire, England. Interestingly, despite having the fastest car, Sakhir appears to be a challenging circuit for McLaren. as if you Include sprint races, it is the only circuit on the calendar where they have not achieved success, as they have never won at Bahrain in its history. They were on the podium in 2010 on the extended Endurance circuit, but the last time were on podium in the configuration they will race on this weekend, was in 2007 when Lewis Hamilton secured his 3rd consecutive podium in his rookie season.

on the weekend 1 im delighted that its a race at normal European time & there no need to wake up early until november & 2 after what i described as the worst race since 2023 Hungarian gp & chinese gp that wasnt much better before that, Bahrain really needs to deliver, & carry on the recent trend it has developed to have entertaining racing, on the positive side things cant possibly get worse. 2014 & 2021 come to mind as 2 modern classics. otherwise questions that are being asked will only get louder. i think we are all waiting for the race where Norris & piastri recreate Hamilton V rosberg

ryo hirakawa seems like such a waste of Rookie FP1 slot, we already got some many youngsters struggling to get a seat time, here we have a 31 yr old who stands no chance of making F1 & hadnt driven a single seater for 18 months since leaving super formula in 2023

both mclarens look in a different league to everyone else the gap to fastest non mclaren is the same gap as 3rd to 9th. like it was in 2014 this might be the starting point for the inevitable fued between piastri & norris. as the battle for the win on sunday

6th, that will hugely disappointing for norris considering how big the car advantage looked this week. but huge opportunity for piastri

fully disagree on hulkenberg penalty. as mentioned you cant disallow a goal for offside in football 20 mins after final whistle. in the same its not hulkenbergs fault the FIA missed it. once Q2 starts, all Q1 track limits should be void

I am beginning to think Norris is the new Button. What an open goal for Piastri. Mercedes are definitely 2ndxquickest

Verstappen is in real trouble tomorrow I was thinking Yuki could outqualify him. Hamilton is going to have smother lonely race vs Sainz if he doesn't clear him quickly

Both Merc drivers have been given a 1 place grid penalty for their indiscretion in the pit lane.

i was listening to bbc. they had an interesting point to explain why lando & lewis struggled compared to their teammates. & with seemingly no explanation. both confused saying the pace is clearly there because their teammates are on the front row

its seemingly all down to pirelli. like russell said in China. they are so hard to get in the working window & keep them there, you can find 4 tenths or lose 4 tenths by just whether your getting the tyres in the window

So basically it's Lewis and Lando's fault for not getting the most out of the tyres then?
true. but if you ask piastri & leclerc. im guessing they dont know how exactly how they managed to be successful. its seems to be more luck than judgement. currently with these temperamental tyres

that was entertaining race. i enjoyed that. but then it couldnt be any worse than suzuka

Piastri despite alot of problems for everyone else seemed to be breeze through the race & as crofty said but for bad luck in Australia, he could be 13 - 27pts clear. i would be worry if i was norris because currently piastri looks unstoppable

Norris & Hamilton showed had 2 brilliant recovery drives, after struggling to get the tyres in the window, that Middle stint was vintage hamilton the way he was able to dispatch the cars so quickly. in a way its a shame that Safety car came out because i wouldve love to have seen how Ferrari's medium medium soft strategy would gone

Bearman impressing again, 20th to 10th. although confused at Antonelli, dont know what happened to his race qualified brilliantly, & that 1st half of the race was brilliant great move on Verstappen then the safety car came out & he dropped to the back, struggled to make any progress

Piastri laid down a serious marker

Norris is probably down to the car that he is 2nd. He seems to your like Button does when the car is not within his window. Really scrappy

Russell what a drive I think he may not win the title but be may play a role to who wins it

Kimi - strange tyre choices

Gasly - driver of the weekend where did that time come from

Leclerc still the better of the two Ferrari's

Hamilton looked like he might do something until the last stop

Verstappen- 6th was probably the result he expected but the limitations of the car was exposed and the pitstop debacle

Tsunoda was closer to what his team wanted

Doohan - given what Gasly did, is this his last race

Haas - what a turn up from quali to the race though Ocon might have made Q3 if he did not crash

Williams - no luck this weekend with either driver

Racing Bulls - still not making use of their quali positions

Sauber - nothing more to say

Aston Martin - oh dear Alonso still has no points
