Formula E 2025/26 Season

This weekend sees the first race of the 2025/26 Formula E Season, or Season 12 as the organisers would like us to refer to it. The first race is in Sao Paulo, Brazil, followed by a trip to Mexico in January. There are double headers in Saudi Arabia, Berlin, Monaco, Tokyo, Shanghai, and London. Round 11, on some sites, is listed as Sanya in China.

Here's the driver line up.

Coverage continues FtA on ITV, but you have to work hard to find which sessions will be shown on which of the various channels ITV use or ITV X. You could subscribe to TNT (you may already), and there is the Formula E YouTube channel as well. Nikki Shields continues to lead the TV coverage, along with mix of other presenters, including Billy Monger, David Coulthard and Karun Chandhok.

Formula E has given us some interesting innovations, such Pit Boost, and Attack Mode, and extending the races after laps behind the safety car. This season the drivers will only take one attack mode in each race, which will spoil a bit of the tactical element of when to take the power boost, and for how long. Let's see how it goes Oli Rowland will be defending the Drivers Title and Porsche the Constructors.

If you haven't watched the Sao Paula race there is a frightening crash involving Pepe Marti which bought out a red flag. The race itself is odd as the Attack Mode is so powerful a driver can overtake more than half the field before being swallowed back up when the Attack Mode runs out. Oh, and I made a mistake in my preview as Attach Mode is 8 minutes, but can be split 2&6, 4&4, or 6&2.

i think its more because attack mode gives 4 wheel drive instead of 2 so the traction is incredible out of the corner

finally got around to watching the season opener, entertaining race. brilliant drives from

but that onboard shot of Marti flying through the air over Da Costa. was 1 of the shots of the 2025. you know what i like him because he's not hiding or making excuses. hes just taken responsibility & said im used to pushing the limits in F2 & not backing off straight away in Formula E
