Television Game of Thrones

Thought I'd dig this old thread up again, did anyone catch the 2nd series? The politics really got turned up a notch and it's going to be a long wait until series 3!

Sure. Not happy with all the changes. Good series anyway, hopefully they'll do all the books.

An excellent second series! The star of the show for me has to be Peter Dinklage, I believe he won a Golden Globe for his acting in the first season and he's been even better in the 2nd. I also think Charles Dance really stood out as well. I'm tempted to read the books but I want to watch the TV show first... argh! choices?!

Absolutely cannot wait for the 3rd season... the only other current show that comes close to this for me is Dexter.

Read the books now, you've already seen enough to allow you to picture the scenes, characters etc. You'll need to wait another 4-5 years otherwise!

I know this is off topic - but when War & Peace was on the Beeb yonks ago, early 70s I think, I was well into the series but had missed the first couple of episodes and wasn't sure what was going on. I was also very taken with Anthony Hopkins (:embarrassed:) , so bought all the volumes and just read until I caught up.

The books are always the best.

Very true Jen, most films and tv programs help those who don't have the mental capacity to imagine the scenes written in the books. However GoT has certain scenes which work far better in film than they would in a book! (Excluding 50 shades of grey obviously)

Once you start reading the books, be aware that most likely you won't be able to stop after two and will probably end up having to read them all.

This is the only reason why I've not bought all the books. Just downloaded the 1st 2 so far. I am showing considerable restraint I think!

Time for a bump!

It is back next Monday at 9pm. All those who have yet to see it you have 7 days to catch up on it!

Already in my planner.

Looking forward to see how the third season develops.
I would like to see some more focus on behind the wall - there's potential there for some interesting stuff.

I have no idea how it is going to develop. The danger from beyond the wall to the North and across the sea in the South is going to be critical this season. Kings landing seems to be fairly stable but knowing how this series goes it will be turned right on its head!

I'm still refusing to read the books till after each season has finished too.

I've been trying to finish the first two books before the third season starts. I've got out the habit of reading though so I'm only hapf way through the second book. Anyway, looking forward to the 3rd series!!

Do it!

I did miss Sean Bean in season 2 I must admit.

I love how all the commoners sound like they're from Yorkshire and then there's just the posh folk like Joffrey Haha ROFL
