Prompted by Speshal's comment about le Clerc being Clerk in English or clerical worker I thought Id have a dig at some of the English equivalent of some of the other drivers names.
Verstappen literally translates as "far to step"
Grosjean - Large John
Vettel - Hag
Perez appear to be a contraction of Pereza (sloth) or Perezoso (lazy)
Hulkenberg - shipwreck on a mountain (sort of)
Hamilton - Flat topped hill town
Norris - Northerner
Russell - Red haired or red skinned
Kubica - Diminutive of Jacob
Any I have got very wrong? Anyone know any others?
