The best save is Max Biaggi when he pulls that wheelie back across the finish line. He gets way beyond vertical at sme serious rate of knots. I'll try and find the video.
Great idea for a thread. The one of Keke puts me in mind of Mansell doing a 360-degree spin at Imola in the Ferrari and continuing at apparently unabated speed, without the merest bead of moustache sweat.
Some great saves on here but to me the one from Mansell at Imola 1990 showed the two sides of him as a driver. The narrator claims Berger pushed him of f the road but it seems to me Gerhard was simply following his normal racing line to the left in anticipation of the following right kink and Nigel went for a gap that didn't exist... incredible skill to recover it but it could be argued he drove himself onto the grass trying to get alongside Berger.
I do miss watching engines blow. It's the shame we still won't get frequent blow outs when turbo's return as by then the regs will probably mean you only get 2 engines per season!
