Firstly, I am not privvie to the inside information at Ferrari, so I was only able to say what I thought, not what actually happened, so I would appreciate you not putting words into my mouth.
Your point about points is well made, and accepted, however, the cause and effect of the situations over the 3 years Kimi was at Ferrari are unknown, yet a key driver for the results.
You have stated that he refused to get involved with the team, which is a bold assertion. This may be the case, but from the snippets that I have heard, he simply applied the necessary input when required, and was a man of few words. OK, there are the comments that he was rarely at the factory, and did not learn italian, which may be a factor, although I have only heard this from sources which I would see as less than reputable.
At the end of the day, not being motivated to do well, and not being willing to play the game are different things. I have seen little evidence of his approach changing over the years that he was in Formula 1.
Despite the goings on in 08 and early 09 (and I emphasise that I do not know what happened) Massa has only really been a number 2, and I do not believe that Ferrari was ever his team, I do not believe that it was ever Kimi's either, although he did provide them with a wdc, which neither Felipe nor Alonso have managed to do.
Maybe it is simply that the way Kimi works did not gel with Ferrari? a lack of results does not necessarily mean a lack of motivation. I am not closed to the idea that he was demotivated, but I am more open to the supposition that he was not willing to play the games that he would have needed to play to make things work at Ferrari, after all, he was a proven race winner when he joined them. I am sure that we have all been fed up with politics in the workplace at some point, and been frustrated with the outcome of certain things.
