I was stunned when i heard Horner had gone. He always seemed like Teflon, someone who could survive anything, no matter what. In a way, it’s sad to lose our "Darth Vader," because every sport needs a pantomime villain.
But Red Bull has been a car crash ever since the scandal broke & no question Horner has been at the centre of it. They’ve lost Newey, they're on the verge of losing Max for the second year running, gone from dominant to having Perez, Lawson & Tsunoda being a disaster in that 2nd seat. tsunoda finishing dead last in 2 straight races (and 3 of the last 5) & The rumour in the paddock is that without max the junior team wouldve actually had the faster car
I said it when i was annoyed that Horner got his CBE & Newey was only an MBE when he should be a sir. credit to him for hiring Newey. But honestly, since then, most fans could’ve done his job. Newey designed the brilliant cars. Marko found Vettel, Ricciardo, and Verstappen. I’m still not sure what Horner really contributed beyond being a frontman / Panto villain
