So it's Alain Prost that comes out on top. His career really spanned three generations of circuits so I guess it makes sense that he leads this (obscure) stat. 33 Pole Positions at 22 different circuits.

Prost had that massive 13-pole-season in 1993 which obviously helps him. This included nine new circuits for him. Monaco, Spa, Montreal and Hockenheim were the circuit where he had pole(s) earlier and took one in 1993. Of three he missed in 1993, he didn't get pole at all in Magny-Cours and Adelaide, while he beat Senna in 1988 at Estoril.

Yeah, Prost took on a Senna-like role in 1993, converting just 6 of his 13 Pole Positions to victory.

When you look back at the 1993 Season you realize they could have run that season over 100 times and Alain Prost probably wins it every single time. Barring injury, its nearly impossible to dream up a scenario where he fails to collect that Championship.

Not that I'm trying to take anything away from it.

I suppose precipitation of Biblical proportions could have played a role in altering the 1993 Championship. :dunno:

Felipe joined this list on Saturday by notching Pole at his 11th different circuit.

3 - Istanbul / Interlagos
2 - Sepang
1 - Suzuka / Sakhir / Catalunya / Magny-Cours / Monaco / Valencia / Singapore / Red Bull Ring

I don't know if you can easily answer this KekeTheKing , but how many circuits did Prost, Senna, Schumacher and Vettel race at that they haven't gotten at least one pole? No Cataluna for Vettel is a surprise!

Hamilton has reached Prost for poles (22) on the different circuits.
And Hamilton now has record with poles (21) on the different GP.

Is it true?

There is difference in the 45 poles by Vettel and Hamilton:
Hamilton doesn't have poles in:
- Buddh
- Istanbul
- Ostin
- Suzuka

Vettel doesn't have poles in:
- Catalunya
- Fuji
- Indianapolis
- New Nurburgring
- Sochi
- Spilberg
