The only thing I learnt from this race is that the Sky commentary team could work for Donald Trump. Every 4 or 5 laps they tried desperately to suggest there was still something going to happen that would dramatically change the race.
It's funny how certain circuits which always used to give us dull races now give us quite interesting ones (Bahrain), but once-good ones such as Spa seem to be a let down now. Abu Dhabi has always been shit though.
-10 The track that was responsible for the introduction of DRS once again fails to deliver. Has their been an overtake for the lead at this race track ever?
No idea but it has a really quirky, unique design of pit lane exit that, wait for it, actually goes under the race track and rejoins the circuit on the opposite side.
The problem with (most of Tilke's) tracks is that they are neither one thing, nor the other.
This is not a high speed screamer, in spite of the long straights, and isn't a fiddly technical circuit (although the 90 degree corners and spurt and squirt just spread cars out)...
The circuit could be improved massively by making the final section much smoother - and get rid of the 90 degree borefest corners...
So many circuits have taken their lead from Phoenix, rather than good tracks...
Tilke has made a few good tracks sepang, india & USA but the bad are far outweighed, but as it turns out we have alex wurz to blame apparently he worked for wurz's dad company. he was saying on beyond the grid
