Yesterday William Dunlop crashed during practice for the Skerries 100 races in County Dublin, being the major meeting in Ireland. The Dunlop family has produced the winners of many road races, including the TTs, William won several major events including varius classes in the North West 200.

The people who ride in these events do so knowing what the risks are, it simply is not possible to make the circuits safe as they include public roads with kerbs. But it is what they love doing and what they live for.

The little town in NI that the Dunlop’s come from are so proud of them, I imagine that the entire community will be in shock.

That is very sad, I guess all you can say is he died doing something he loves. From what I read he's not the first in the family to die this way either, so tragic for the family.

Fathers, Uncles and Brothers all involved in the sport, at least two other Dunlop’s have died chasing the dream.
