'55 - 2nd oldest to start an f1 race - Philippe Erancelin (55 years and 191 days) at the 1952 French GP
 
'65 - The Prince George circuit East London, South Africa - hosted the earliest F1 GP season opener on 1st January1965. Jim Clark won the 85 lapper in his Lotus-Climax ahead of John Surtees (Ferrari) and Graham Hill (BRM).

South Africa did it again at Kyalami on 1st Jan 1968. Jim Clark (Lotus) won again this time ahead of Graham Hill (Lotus) and Jochen Rindt (Brabham).

What's that? History repeats itself? Sometimes, apparently.
