The season is about to start, so it's time for you to make your predictions for this year's interforum league. Cliptheapex finished 3rd out of 13 last season and will be one of the preseason favourites. If you are late joining, don't worry, you will get some points for each race you missed (usually 20), and you can still help the forum in the league. How to play: Register on zdkf1 and start your nickname with “CTA”. (If you forget, please edit your nickname here.) Add the other entrants whose nicknames start with “CTA” as your friends. For each race, predict the top 10 finishers, the pole position and pole time. The prediction deadline is 10pm (GMT) on the Thursday before the race (except Monaco). How the scoring works on zdkf1 How the league scoring works: For each race, the league entrants are ranked by the zdkf1 points they scored (tiebreaker is accuracy of poletime guess) and then points awarded to the forums similar to the F1 points system, although only the top 2 from each forum can score league points. Example: Code: Position User Forum Zdkf1 points League points 1st teabagyokel Cliptheapex 60 25 2nd moltisanti Not606 52 18 3rd august Muzz606 51 15 4th samhuds F1fanatic 50 12 5th fred Not606 50 10 6th rufus_mcdufus Cliptheapex 47 8 7th stevetosh83 New-606 45 6 8th brogan Cliptheapex 43 - 9th str8y Vivaf1 42 2 10th brightlampshade Not606 40 - Good luck everyone!
My goodness (or any acceptable expletive), those rules are complicated. As I read them, my brain took on that numb feeling akin to having one glass of red too many on a Sunday afternoon while watching Sebastian Vettel win yet another GP..... and my inner voice started to sound very much like Professor Stephen Hawking. BTW, I'm in - and found 17 others beginning 'cta' to befriend.
I'll be there and will attempt to keep track of the CtA scores which offers a variety of virtual prizes to each race winner.
I'm still registered but not sure if I will be able to 'keep up' with developments without SKY. So will let you know if I'll be joining in this year!
I still think the scoring system is flawed. It should be a maximum of two entrants from each forum in the points. Additional members shouldn't block members from other forums from scoring points. Otherwise a forum could just field a huge number of entrants and it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility to block out all of the points.
Usernames are private. If you email support@zdkf1.com they will tell you what it is. That's fine. I'll have a think about changing it
Would it be out of the question to to start a PM to inbox other CTA members a day in a advance of the deadline in case they are as forgetful as I am.
I'm in! And I've created a suitably risky and fence sitting set of predictions for Australia! For the moment I'm sticking with the 'Vettel won't win again' strategy that worked so well for me in 2011. For the scoring system, couldn't you just ignore the 3rd, 4th etc. drivers from a forum rather than using them to block out scores. So in the example above stra8y would get 4 points (8th place excluding ineligible entrants) instead of 2. I'm not sure I explained that very well, but I think it would work... Don't you get the emails from zdkf1?
number of entrants for each forum for australia: not606 16 muzz606 5 new-606 7 606v2 1 ja606 6 cliptheapex 12 vivaf1 1 thef1forum 1 f1world 6 f1technical 4 f1fanatic have two entrants but I'm sick of inconsistant moderation of my posts (sometimes treated as spam, sometimes allowed) so I'm forgetting about f1fanatic There's still 10 people from 606 playing, so I will see if I can contact them to find out where they call home now, but I won't count them in the league. GPFocus & F1Rejects were interested in taking part but didn't get back to me before the deadline. Hopefully they will join for the next race. There are three other forums invited who do not have entrants. Whoever is sir_eddie_jordan, I have no idea which forum you are playing for (if any). I've agreed to change to your suggestion of not including more than the first 2 from a forum in the top ten.
