FIA Formula E

Jos the Boss the sound was always going to be different but I think it'll be quite cool if the racing is good.

I'm hoping the lack of engine airflow will mean the cars can get closer tpneach other and actually do some overtaking.

I agree the vote on push to pass does sound a bit crap and I'm hoping they'll drop it. Also hoping that, as planned, after the first year they open it up so that teams can enter their own designs too as I'd love to see how far the technology can be pushed.

It has all the ingridents to be good but the proof is in the pudding.

A few months ago I received an A4 envelope addressed to my home address (completely correct, down to the door number, building number and postcode) but the name on the envelope was "Gian Avignone", which is not mine obviously.
Hand written envelope too so not a computer error.

Inside there was one document of 61 pages entitled: "Formula E Team's Commercial Agreement"
The document details all terms of payments, contracts, etc.

A quick Google search turned this up: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/gian-avignone/13/392/775

Which in turn led to these links: http://www.draysonracingtechnologies.com/home.html andhttp://www.draysonracingfe.com/team/manager.html?Gian-Avignone-2 and http://www.draysonracingfe.com/races-championship.html

I sent a message via the website but didn't receive a reply.

I still have the document.

Wow Brogan thats pretty odd that a document like that should just happen to be accidentally sent to someone who just happens to run a forum dedicated to motor sport!

If this was a plot to a movie I'd say it was a bit unbelievable.

Sounds like Dyson have a mole! ;)

I'm going to watch it. I really like that it is on over the winter break. Seems to have a lot of potential with so many big names involved. Green racing is the future whether you like it or not it will be interesting to see how it all starts. I just hope there is full coverage and we don't have to put up with a shit highlights program. If thats the case I might not last that long....bit like the cars batteries.

I'm quite excited about it and might even try to get to see the London race live. Its a very interesting prospect as it seems to have genuine interest from all corners of the world. The American interest certainly seems to be high which could mean its where all the money ends up, which again could lead to teams like Williams and Mclaren diverting more and more of their resources to it.

Lets face it the rules and regs do leave Formula E open as the place to develop and try out a lot of new technology, far more than F1 does, which could be quite exciting.

Of course it all depends on the racing though and it'll be interesting to watch which drivers they manage to tempt into the sport. Certainly if your Sam Bird of Fabio Leimer with no space for you in F1 then you'd be jumping on this ship to see where it goes. I imagine if their smart we may find drivers named Prost, Senna, Hill, Andretti and Fittipaldi on the grid for a bit of media attention. I wonder if they may be able to attract a big name like Button to leave F1 early and try it out though.

I'm gonna wait for the first radio call saying conserve battery power please and if Mark Webber gets the inclination to drive in the series then all I can say is don't your battery will always be flat...
