Anyone keep fish? I got myself a 90ltr fish tank about 6 months ago. I am keeping Neon Tetras, Endler Guppies, Bee Shrimp, Cherry shrimp and Otocinclus.

Loving my new hobby and my new pets.

    Some photos of my fishes.

My new boss at work put in a new little fish tank in the reception area at work. Appropriately 10 fishes, swimming about.
(There's a nice ornamental head thing , amongst other ornaments).

We noticed yesterday, that some of the little-est fishes are missing... :o

Several theories abound, including death by air-filter, but I suspect an errant cup meant to capture water from a nearby water dispenser... :ermmm:

A friend of mine had a fish tank with two piranha in it, he came home from work one day and it had one and half piranha in it..

We got a 35 ltr tank for the kids.... Our Christmas goldfish (called Red) had lasted more then 6 months so we agreed it was only fair to upgrade his little tank and he has been joined by three much smaller ones (Black, Dotty and Spot (who is actually stripy!)); very therapeutic but need to get a better filter or something to stop the gunk building up at the bottom!

BTW Greenlantern101 what are those lovely little multi-coloured ones????

Endler Guppies Tuscan1969 They are live breeders i.e. no eggs and are adding around 6 new babies every 10 days. HELP. :)

McZiderRed small fish that fit in bigger fishes mouths do tend to go 'missing' fish should all be of similar size or its just big fish and snacks.

Invest in a Siamese Fighting Fish Greenlantern101, although only 1 male. If you hold a mirror up to the tank the male think's there is another male and goes into "fighting mode".

The fish are all lovely. One of my daughters had some Guppies once, I managed to lose them down the sink when cleaning them out.
    We don't do fish anymore.

Don't forget to keep up with the water changes - most important! even though it can be quite........ draining.....

FB the fighting fish are too aggressive for my tank. The neons and guppies are about half the size. As for the shrimps they would all be eaten within days.

Speshal water change every 2 weeks and clean the filter once a month. I don't find it a chore, I enjoy it. Its a hobby.

I have a 350 liter tank with Malawi Cichlids and a sailfin pleco and a 150 liter tank with moonfish, corydoras, ancistrus, rafael catfish and some chinese catfish witch i got from a friend.

Used to have puffer fish, the small ones are easy the south american ones are nerve wrecking and you got to clip their teeth.

Today I gave away 50 Endler guppies must have about the same still left in the tank. I bought 20 about 3 months ago. Oh my god they breed like crazy.

Bushi do you know if Corydoras would eat my cherry shrimps? I would quite like a little shoal of 4 or 5.

Well Jell of the 350ltr tank by the way.

Well i want a bigger tank for my Malawi Cichlids and put my moonfish in the 350 liter tank.

No Greenlantern101 they won't eat them, their mouth is to small and they are to slow.....maybe the baby shrimp will get sucked once and a while.

I think in a year or so that you will have a bigger tank.;) Most people start small and end up with the big tanks. I started out with one 40 liter tank and at a given moment i had 3 tanks.......which was a bit out of control. :)

The next thing to do is to go scuba diving and get rid of the fish tanks altogether.

Discovered why I have been having algae problems. Algae loves phosphates, If your aquarium water has reading greater than 1.0 you should do a water change as its too high.

I have just tested my TAP water and it reads 1.5

Great. Thats just great. Brilliant, cheers. FFS.
