Notice Featured Threads

I suspect the response to that poll wouldn't be so even if I'd made the article after testing ;). Hopefully this will be good for CTA race of the year, which I'll do again.

Yes, I specifically developed this new feature to give polls more exposure.

Hopefully it will increase participation.

Would it be possible to include a link to the original article with the poll (either below the poll or maybe linked from the poll title)?

Already on the list to do.

The default code doesn't have a link from the poll block to the thread as the only place it is ever shown is at the top of the thread.

I will need to hack into the template to add a link.

68 votes so far on the first GP out of ten poll.

Not bad at all and I believe it may be the highest we've ever had.

Maximum last two years has been 65 so you're probably right. And it was a fairly dull race only live on Sky too!

Oh and just a reminder that if the huge poll block is getting on your nerves on the various forum pages, or any of the featured threads for that matter, you can dismiss them using the little dropdown tool.

Not on the home page though, it's not possible to dismiss content from there.

Just goes to show what a bit of extra exposure does.

Casual visitors are far more likely to vote on a poll if it's the first thing they see when they visit the site, rather than if it is buried away in a thread.
