I still don't agree he rattled Vettel... I think there were other factors at play

Could'nt have stated it better vintly. True...every word
Your argument presumes that both drivers had the same resources and mental disposition, thus they competed on the level. Some of us, myself included, dispute assumptions of similar kind. Vettel had a lot of bad luck with that car, which extended beyond DNF or DNS.
Situation was exasperated with him badly needed milage to change his driving technique, and he wasn't getting it. He got shortchanged before season, and in several pre-race weekends, which ended up him going into a race with setup being tested on the installation lap. He had even nasty argument with Newey, with that one really saying things which he shouldn't. If Vettel was hesitant leaving, that might have pushed him forward.
Mentally he was not in the office for one reason or another. It was not IMO straight fight, regardless what Ricciardo or someone else thinks of it. At the end it however doesn't matter. He got Vettel that year, and riding those cocktails ever since. Good for him.
Good Evening, Ladies, Gentlemen and those not covered by the first two.
Well, well, well (said the man looking at a big hole in the ground) the season hasn't kicked off yet and we have.

Seb Vettel - 162
Danny Ric - 158
I'd forgotten just how bad they were going into that season and it makes the fact RBR won races even more impressive.
or on the similar lines rather than naming cars after woman he fantasises about. Seb had the wrong attitude after testing whereas previous seasons he'd put in those blinding 1 lap in testing , he could not for 2014. Ricciardo to his credit got one with job and delivered and it was not even the 2nd best car on the grid . If anything the next best car was Williams who should have won races if they had a decent driver that season
LeClerc - the guy seems to ooze class and not fazed by Vettel and the fact he appears one with the car means he will be fighting for victories and podiums no doubt. He will push Vettel no doubt
Gasly - oh dear another crash in testing I am starting to think he's getting either over excited or seriously worried about the speed of Verstappen with pressure over his shoulder from Albon
Norris - Has got plenty of miles which will stand him in good stead
Albon - I think he will surprise a few people
Russell - Is now getting the miles in but it does not look good as the Williams will be at least 1 second slower than the 2nd slowest car
Giovinazzi - seems to be forgotten in all the hype around Le Clerc but lets see if he has matured and can put Kimi into retirement or not
Ricciardo - I think he will have some painful expressions on his face this season if Red Bull as fast as everybody thinks it will be to challenge for the drivers
No, I like them both. But I would like to see Danny Ric do well. I’m just a bit of a fan, just a little bit.
Agree totally with all your driver notes most specifically Albon.
I am so far very impressed at his abilities. This guy is quick !
He may force Kvyat into retirement for good by the end of this season.
True. I read that.
If Albon is given the right hardware and support, he can really shine this year and has a chance to get promoted and replace Gasly.
He needs refinement then he can be a strong driver. Not torpedoing all over the place. It's all up to him though.
Yes but can he find the finesse, that's the big question? His career with Toro Rosso/Red Bull hasn't gone well before has it? That will no doubt be playing on his mind to some degree too. I sort of feel bad for him, in some ways he's on a hiding to nothing.
Never doubted him.
Vettel for POLE to Win
2nd - LeClerc
3rd - Verstappen
As much as I want this prediction turn into reality, this year cars seems to be just too close to each other, and driver's skill might be not the only factor that propels him to the top. Little bit of luck will be in demand as well. (Unobstracted qualifying, optimised and error free setup for climatic conditions of the day, etc.) Several cars could be crossing Finish line a meter apart of each other on Saturday in qualifications practice. Vettel, Leclerc, Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen, they all have chance in first race IMO. I would add, anyone from midfield might surprise us as well. Sainz was doing well, Perez cannot be underestimated, and there could be someone else from midfield coming up as a surprise for us all. Maybe not in the top three places, but among first five.
