Brilliant images Lewis just got given Senna actual helmet. A gift from the Senna family for equalling Senna pole record. Very generous.

Stunning lap from Hamilton, Vettel tried too hard in his final lap but was incredibly close. Fingers crossed for a good race tomorrow.

Just seen the pole lap, he never fought the wheel and how he flicked it into the last chicane and through was sublime. F1 Saturday highlight of the year, and I'm not a Hammy fan!

It's obvious that the Senna family have a special feeling towards Lewis. Something that he will always respect and treasure. To receive such an honor of one of Ayrton's race worn helmets from them, was an emotional moment to him, and for many of his fans.

just caught up on qualifying as i couldnt live because of national duty to endure & annoy myself by watching England like last decade try & coast through yet another bloody qualifer.

that lap from Lewis Hamilton in Q3 was absolutely awesome. when he did the 1:11.7 i thought it was untouchable til vettel brought out that miracleous final sector to be 0.004s off. ive some laps but that 1:11.4 is 1 of Greatest pole laps ive seen "live" & when lewis got presented that helmet. i nearly blubbed :teary: because majority of f1 fans know how much that gesture meant the world to lewis. as that gift probably tops any race winning trophy. hes ever received

With the Mercs 1st and 3rd, it is rather obvious that, at least on this circuit, they are, once again the fastest cars in F1. The race should be (hopefully) quite entertaining.

Ferraris and Mercs beautifully close, looks good, long live Vettel and Hamilton (at least in their driving careers).

Somebody will post this if I don't but the Senna helmet was a replica and Lewis will get an actual helmet used for promotions (but not in an actual race) from the Senna family later. A stunning lap but I think Ferrari will win this one (sadly).

That final sector from Vettel must've been epic, particularly as there was a fairly horrible lock-up. I thought he was going to abandon the lap after it.

It would be very demoralising for Merc if they failed to win. Could easily happen.

It's only a helmet, but the marketing machine of the brand 'Senna' is still working seamlessly, even 23 years after his death.

It most certainly is. He still holds the record for most Grands Prix lost from pole position, but Hamilton is catching fast!

    Doubt they'll commemorate THAT!
