Formula E News and General Discussion Thread

So checked this. It appears BT sport is angling it's way in.

The races do appear to be live on Eurosport so guess I'll be watching it there. Eurosport coverage does tend to suck sometimes though.

UK schedules are here.

Formula E

Eurosport sucks most off all with their commercials, and most of them are from eurosport itself.

Hope Dario and Jack still gonna commentate on YouTube.

For a brief period in the mid 90's after the late great James Hunt passed away I only ever watched F1 on Eurosport. Ben Edwards and John Watson were by far a better team than listening to Walker and Palmer. I could even put up with the adverts as for some reason they were far less obtrusive than when ITV won the contract.

The last thing FE needs right now is to bugger off behind a pay wall. It's still a growing sport but the solid and broad fan base isn't really there yet. If it goes behind a pay wall it never will be.

I think we are giving Vernon kay too much stick, this is guy knows his sport been to & hosted numerous sporting events. like NFL F1 Golf Cricket (I think) he will surprise a few

Hope Dario and Jack still gonna commentate on YouTube.

They are the confirmed commentary pair for the world feed so yes they'll be back.

Looking at CH5 coverage it is at least a delayed as live showing. The race is live at 7:45am but CH5 are showing it at 9am. Not sure why the hell that is.

I can't see the schedule for Spike yet because that's a CH5 channel and it does tend to show up there when not on the main feed.

São Paulo has been replaced on the calendar by Punta del Este. Good move by the FIA to go to a place they know will deliver.

So they need to blow the sand out of the side-pods again...

It's still a very amateurish series.
How could Rosenqvist go on to win the race after spinning and then driving into the oncoming traffic forcing the other drivers to stop and in addition to that he forced another driver into the barriers. No penalties.

Camera work is worse than that in F1 which I thought would be impossible.

I can't really take a series with a fan boost serious either.

Formula E is a very young series. It has had to develop an identity in a way that more traditional series do not have to do. It has done so very effectively: the queue for manufacturers’ entry for the next couple of years is dwarfed only by the queue for cities hoping to hold a race.

Fan Boost has not materially affected a race result for about two years; its day is done. It has served a purpose and successfully driven social media engagement to the series.

Rosenqvist recovered because it is possible to pass on street circuits.

Oi, there's no reason to roll your eyes, matey!LOL

It may be a young series, but that doesn't explain the bad camera work nor the lack of rulings on improper behaviour in a race. Rosenqvist recovered because the stewards turned a blind eye on him. He should have been disqualified for driving head on into the traffic.

Camera work is obviously more difficult on a street circuit because sight lines are limited.

Driving head-on into traffic? That image is disingenuous.

I guess Felix could have sat there on the main overtaking point of a blind corner and waited for someone to have already committed to a late breaking overtake and smash into the side of him rather than feed back in. I Don't know which would be safer.

So next season all new Formula E car has been revealed.

Looking a little like the Bat Mobile and completed with LED lit Halo. This machine will put an end to the car swap and go full race distance.

I like the side view but not sure about it from the top.
