F1 TV coverage

I watch the premier league, football league, soccer saturday, boxing, cricket, darts & all the f1 coverage with all testing coverage which is about 4hrs, then there 14 hrs of coverage a weekend
Jesus Christ!

I paid for the V8 Supercars this season, if F1 shouldn't be available free-to-air in Germany in the future, I'd happily quit watching it.

I watch F1 and very occationally tennis, rugby and snooker all of which aren't on sky.

Just set up a freeview+ HD box and ordered a Now TV box. Now to route a 20m cat 6 cable from my router to the now tv and freeview for best speed. If all goes well ETA to 'sky phone call' in 13 days. **** you Rupert Murdoch.

I watch only F1, Barcelona FC occasionally and cricket. Looking forward to the Ashes tour but the Sky Sports bill in the F1 off-season is a waste of my money really. Interested to hear how you get on Greenlantern101 and what sort of offer Sky try on you.

F1 only recently signed a d
Interesting. Well if F1 goes to Netflix I will be cancelling sky. That will save me a fortune.

I believe Liberty only recently signed a deal with ESPN so the chance of Netflix having anything other than a delayed highlights package is slim to non existent.

I Wouldn't say Crofty was a Hamilton fanboy. Think he is quite restrained where Hammy is concerned. Now Max Verstappen he blows his load over constantly but other than that he is quite fair handed.

Sky is cancelled. Well almost. 30 days termination period. Last day the 27th December. They did offer me a reduced package for 20 quid for 18 months. Told them to stuff it. 14 years I have been with sky. Just worked out that comes to £7500

Now TV is a Sky offshoot company, Rupert still gets his take, it is set up for those who won't buy Sky, Murdoch has a large net to catch all but the really wary:whistle:

An email from F1 telling me they don't want my opinion. Thanks.

I'm so pessimistic about F1 right now and I feel this will be the death of it (for me anyway).

The same attitude appears to be across this forum. I don't post anywhere else so can anyone tell of this is across all the forums or just here?

Before i start can i say i love sky sports. I think the coverage they can do is outstanding & in f1 terms beyond wildest dreams of even 10yrs ago on itv

Im really worried for F1 & that we are going the same way as English cricket Look at the current ashes. We just lost 4-0 & barely anyone watched as it was on bt sport getting viewers between 70,000 - 140,000 viewers compared to 2013/14 tour on sky that would 150 - 260 thousand. i say biggest proof that publicity is worth more than any money

2005 - Channel 4 - England win, flintoff wins sports personality of the year (media career off that) front page news, peak of 8.1m, open top bus through London & loads of mbe's
2013 - Sky sports - england win, Joe Root man of the series, didnt make spoty shortlist & they got 2 pages in sports newspaper.

Im sure BBC are getting right to world snooker & Wimbledon 'cheap'. Barry hearn could take world champs to Sheffield arena from crucible & BBC > sky sports/eurosport an triple or quadruple their profits. But if no one sees it did it really happen. We are lucky that we currently have (according to records) the greatest British f1 driver with 4 world titles. Which helps bring interest but what happens when for arguments sake in 2021 he stops & theres no driver capable of winning. Talking about Lewis Hamilton, why was the such a fuss over him the back end of 06. Because GP2 was on itv4, so vast majority of people was watching the turkey race where he came through the field from last to 2nd

Ive always been of the thought that all 20 races free to air & if you want the pay tv money they can have all the practises, qualifying longer pre post race build up & feeder series exclusive. But like bernie said in 70s when he was trying to get coverage & they only wanted the prestige gps & he persuaded them to have whole season we need the exposure
