mjo - Context: Manchester United have not finished outside the top 3 since 1991.

The fact City, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. have been sacking good managers does not mean United shouldn't sack a clear failure.

So the badly chosen one has had the sack from Manchester United, it was always going to be a big ask to be the next manager who followed in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson. Even though they have had a terrible season, compared to the last 20 years, i would say that it was the failure to qualify for the Champions league that was the final straw.

I think AVB is at Zenit St Petersburg at the moment, but with his track record it will only be for a short while.

In other news, I now have a local team to root for! The Indy Eleven has arrived, playing its first two games both at home in the second-tier North American Soccer League. Promotion and relegation doesn't exist here, so the only real ways to get into MLS at the moment are getting endorsed by Beckham or building a soccer specific stadium, which is already being stated after two games, both 1-1 draws.

Just to say at this point [bg=#000000]RIP Tito Villanova[/bg]. The former Barcelona coach had been battling cancer for some time and today passed away at the age of 45.

Well that was an anticlimax. Fulham and Cardiff are down, with Norwich virtually down also. No relegation dogfight on the final day
