Things ... Welcome to the Future (2018 - 2019 Silly Season)

Red Bull or should I say Helmut has really burned a lot of promising young drivers career too early . By going with Kyvat and Hartley, Red Bull have effectively admitted defeat that their young driver programme has become flawed or just unable to produce new talent

------------------

One more set at Williams either someone with lots of money to replace Stroll's money, Sirotkin but has not done quite enough to stay on, Kubica - the fairy tale comeback or someone else.

Ocon ? - Interesting if he does get it because then he would be expected to lead and beat Russell and put a case for being promoted to Merc which Toto believes in.

Russell at Williams and Norris at Mclaren... the last two British world champions were given their debuts in F1 by these two legendary teams but these two will be bringing up the rear

without doubt red bull asked too much too soon. they expect vettel & Verstappen to be the norm, instead of the expection, when you think Alguersari Kyvat (1st time) Buemi & Vergne were Binned at 21 23 23 & 24. which is crazy when you think of the talented world champions like Schumacher, Hakkinen,Hamilton & Alonso (Renault) where just starting their career when them 4 were on the red bull scrapheap. maybe they have learnt a great lesson of giving them a chance. remind me of Chelsea in football who have almost ran out of managers to hire. because of rate theyve fired them

it could be interesting if albon as this would be his schedule 1st 6 rounds are clear but then he wouldnt take part in the 2nd half with clashes in the 2nd half which might mean its an either or (FE in Bold)

I think the pairing of Ocon and Russell will do a lot better than Sirotkin and Stroll

In other series I;ve seen Mercedes run junior teams or pair 1 senior driver with 1 junior driver so I for one am not surprised if Williams becomes a Merc B Team much to the annoyance of Lawrence Stroll who wanted Williams to be a Merc B Team but has now divested his money out of the team

I wish Frank Williams was still calling the shots at Williams and playing hard ball in this situation ... maybe they can get free engines and Mercedes pay the driver salaries

At Williams Ocon would be able to show he has the qualities to be a future No 1

To be honest I think they could have had the ghosts of Fangio and Senna driving for them this year and it would have made not the slightest difference. The Williams car is probably the worst they've ever produced.

You can't polish a terd.

Personally, I wouldn't want to try.

A driver can only do so much in a crap car, unless they can shove their legs through the bottom and Fred Flintstone it along a bit faster of course. I know some drivers can give advice that helps to develop a car and improve it, but that only does so much. If the car is a dog to start with, you can bet it's still going to be a dog, no matter how you tweak it.

Alonso is proving what you can do in poor car, somehow he is only 3pts off Hulkenburg Perez & Magnussen, outscoring ocon all in far superior cars. but let not kid ourselves because what you cant forget is what kubica said after spain Fp1 when he drove the Williams, talked about being embarrassed at how slow he having to go & the really difficult balance

You only have to look at that Williams car going through a corner to see how bad it is. The thing is completely unbalanced. With something that wrong there is nothing any driver can do.

Its the worst Williams for sure but then I don't think the drivers are capable of helping sort the mess out or at least show resilience in difficult times

Force India have finally confirmed that Perez will be driving for them in 2019. Like we didn't already know that anyway.

Angel :yawn: So Perez has been talking up about being a world champion and driving for a team for the last 3 years.....and he is ended up with the same team

A waste of a seat but hey then he really has no excuses if he can't Lance Stroll then

Rowland in for Albon at Nissan for FE test amid Toro Rosso F1 talk

https://www.crash.net/f1/news/907816/1/horner-albon-links-toro-rosso-just-speculation-moment

The rumours about Albon has picked up in the last few days with now Wehrlein going to Formula E and Schumacher Jnr expected to go into F2 and Ticktum still not earning enough points to be in F1

Horner has just admitted its pure speculation but given Dams who confirmed as one of their drivers for next season have had to revert to Rowland confirms

- Talks have been happening and Albon has not been able to test the car much to Dams annoyance
- Rowland is properly considered only an outside shot for the Williams seat
