what should Toro Rosso do about the torpedo?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it becomes a shoot-out between Gasly and Kvyat to partner...Sebastien Buemi next season. :o

Maybe they replaced Kvyat, because they’re afraid of him racking up more penalty points until Austin which would mean he’d be banned for the race there, and as Gasly would take part in the Super Formula finale, they’d have no decent replacement for Kvyat.

There is a chance that this good be Kyvat's last grand prix so that Toro Rosso next week field a line up of Hartley vs Gasly. I don't remember a team having 3 different line up's in consecutive races where its a completely different driver combination

Kvyat drove well today, but Hartleys performace was better, especially considering the fact that he had only driven once in the simulator and the three practice sessions. I'd give him another go, if not this season then next season.

He was stuck behind Stroll for most of the race and the Williams is a rocket in a straight line compared to the Toro Rosso and surely he can improve. Di Resta was more than a second slower than Stroll without traffic...

IMO, if you put Kvyat in the Mercedes and Hamilton in the TR, it isn't Hamilton that would be vying for wins.

Only because he allowed Stroll to overtake him. I like Hartley, but it was far from a strong debut. Better than di Resta when you compare their preparation time, of course, but I'd set the bar a little higher than that.

A wet FP and barely any experience in F1 apart from some tests with Toro Rosso and Mercedes, and he had not driven an open cockpit car for a long time too. Di Resta on the other hand has plenty of experience, 3 years to be precise, and he couldn't even keep up with Stroll.

Toro Rosso seem to be impressed by his performance too.

So in an interview today, Franz Tost was asked whether they will run Kvyat again this year. The response was that "He is not a Red Bull driver any more, he is free to do whatever he wants.... We will be running Brendon and Gasly for the rest of the year. They are both Red Bull drivers. We want to test them for the rest of the season and there is a high possibility this will be the line up for next year."
