Future F1 Races Thread

Oh for god sake I thought this shit would stop once Bernie left.

F1 looking to add more street races in Asia

He said that in Singapore where there is no fan base.

A quote from the F1 newsletter:

"Well, those dark nights of the soul are about to come to an end as Formula 1 drags it superstar drivers away from their 7-star beach hideaways and packs them off to one of F1’s most fabulous and fearsome races – the Belgian Grand Prix.

If the old adage that the best way to sculpt a circuit is to start with the side of a hill and carve away anything that doesn’t look like a race track, then Spa-Francorchamps is the motor racing equivalent of Michelangelo’s David – perfectly formed, historically significant and universally admired. Except that Spa’s contours are, you know, just way better.

The flick of Eau Rouge, the long blast of the Kemmel Straight, the technical demands of high G Pouhon, the flat-out arc of high-speed Blanchimont, Spa is 7.004km of grand prix purity. Indeed, returning to action here is like going from a diet of sawdust and ashes to belly-flopping into a vat of liquid cookie dough ice cream."

Spa is in Belgium and close to France, Germany and Holland all of which have large fan bases. I despair.:givemestrength:

ROFL You didn't really believe that though, did you?

It's a business and they're going to run it in the same way as Lord Ecclestone, only with the addition of social media to attract more spectators.
F1 will soon not be available on free-to-air either (at least in Germany it seems) and I'm not subscribing to any channel to continue watching it.

The street races have all been shit this year. More boring races this year than I can remember in any past year. With this plan for more street tracks I am seriously considering packing in watching F1 and cancelling sky.
