Television Whats on TV?

What disturbs me is that one of the Russian cabinet members congratulated them on their return fro France saying that they had vanquished Russia's enemies. Now the Russian government have decided to have a crackdown for the World Cup so that people will go to see it, but will they continue with this once the competition is over?

There is still problems with right wing fans elsewhere in Europe. Lazio, for example, often has fans doing the Nazi salute at matches. Some the teams from the former east of Germany have some very radical groups and some of the teams in Spain don't exactly embrace black players. This is not excusing the actions of the Russian fans but this is not a solely Russian problem.

On a lighter note, I watched Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (the new one with Frodo Baggins in it) and it was very bizarre and very funny.

Having now sat through all five episodes of SS-GB and can honestly say what a disappointing load of cobblers that was.

4 episodes of set up leading to a rushed, convoluted and at times downright absurd finish.

The story actually tries to make a senior member of the SS-Gestapo from the office of Richard Heydrich (architect of the Final Solution) into a sympathetic and noble character. Really?

I can read bear's faces olegg, and this bear is saying 'Thanks for the pancakes and the hoops, and for all the nice trips we've had over the years, but honestly, I'd much rather not do this theatre stuff anymore, because I'm a bear.'
