I didn't think the film was too bad. It was never going to be what we wanted it to be so they did well enough and didn't completely re-write / trash the source material.

Certainly I heard it on the radio before I read the books. I used to listen every Saturday lunchtime.

Harry Hill started on R4 with Harry Hill's Fruit Corner - was even more bizarre on radio than on TV. If any fancies a good listen track down Old Harry's Game. Another good effort from the R4 comedy stable.

Anyone been watching Tyrant?

Set in a mythical Arabian state which sounds like Aberdeen. It's a tense 10 part political thriller. I don't want to give too much away but I watched the 1st two episodes the other night and was going to watch a couple more tonight but got hooked and I'm just about to watch the finale. Who needs sleep anyway.

Dire on so many levels.

I actually felt embarrassed for the writers having to explain away the use of supergirl rather than superwoman.



I tortured myself by also watching the second episode in the desperate hope that it would improve.

Brogan I actually quite like Supergirl not because she wears a red skirt because there has not been a series about Superman's cousin apart from the terrible fim in the 80's


Its fair to say X Factor is getting more terrible with each year.

Cuffs. I watched the first episode, it didn't start very well and then didn't improve. I realised after seeing what was on IPlayer that I had missed the second episode which shows how keen I was not to see more.

The Grinder. Your regular "odd couple" series but very well executed by Rob Lowe and Fred Savage.

Fargo - first series was brilliant, and the new one looks just as darkly amusing.
One wonders how the residents (denizens?) of Minnesota appreciate being portrayed as slightly clueless ditherers with funny accents though...
