Young American Michael Lewis to get a test with Ferrari http://adamcooperf1.com/2011/11/08/lewis-no-not-that-one-to-test-for-ferrari/ Could be one to watch if he's good and Ferrari try and push the U.S F1 market. Have to say though if he does come into F1 and Lewis Williamson does too - and Mr Hamilton is around - its going to be a tad confusing.
So Ferrari have given young Massa a warning to improve in 2012 or your out: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/15837642.stm
Just got a batch of pics from the Young Driver's Test and Ferrari were running with an interesting contraption fitted at one point. I've seen these things before, just never quite this large.
I thought it was a mobile pit board for Massa, fitted to Alonso's car, but then I realised he would be too far behind to see it...
I remember McLaren running those in 2009 desperately trying to sort out their lack of rear aero after the regs changes. Obviously just trying to sort out improved rear aero for next years regs without the EBD.

Ferrari want a German driver. Montezemelo has played a blinder by only mentioning the one he actually wants as "Rosberg and two other good young German drivers". They've reckoned its Sutil and Hulk, but Sutil is not as young as Vettel.
I think it should go without saying that Massa will be out of a Ferrari seat in 2013. The big question on who will partner Alonso must in part be answered by who Alonso wants to partner him. It depends on how much influence he has on team calls other than from behind the wheel. It's rare for Ferrari to have two top drivers in the team so I just can't see Vettel going there. You never know though.
Didn't think it quite deserved an article of its own but Ferrari could have quietly pulled off the coup of the pre-season in signing Hirohide Hamashima to their staff. Former head of tyre development for Bridgestone he's a technical tyre specialist and could be very important to a team who lets face it struggled with the new tyres last season. It doesn;t sound much but if he finds a solution to Ferrari's problem in getting heat into the tyres (especially certain types) it could be worth a couple of tenths a lap which is a big leap in F1 terms and could def push Ferrari nearer the front. Very very smart signing that one.

Typical Montezemolo knee jerk reaction, 'heads must roll' is the only solution? Early in the interview he says; "I hope that the predictions about us are wrong. "And if they are true I will want to know why this has happened and how much time it's going to take to put it right." Then a couple of lines later he says; "I spoke to Alonso and he said that there are many positive features on the car, but it will take time to unlock their potential. "It's a car still to be discovered and only in Melbourne will we know where we are." So I will kick ass if the car is not good enough yet, but I also know that its a new aggressive attempt and it will therefore take a while to unlock its potential but if he sacks staff, whos gonna unlock its potential?
I already know the answer, but here goes: Where is there anything in that article about heads rolling?
Although it doesnt actually say 'heads rolling' (even Luca wouldn't say that) its no stretch of my imagination to assume the worst from articles headlined like this; Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo says he will demand answers if the team's new car is uncompetitive in the first race of the season. Its not like Ferrari haven't fired staff rashly before
Just a normal Monte statement, I did think that he was spending more time on politics now. I suppose that he could be showing the electorate that he is a firm leader, but it could backfire if nothing happens.
